Use of the UKMO Unified Model in
UGAMP
Scientists throughout UGAMP are
actively using the UKMO Unified Model to study basic climate processes
in the atmosphere-ocean system. The Unified Model system consists of
the full UKMO operational forecasting suite and the coupled
Ocean-Atmosphere model used for climate prediction. There are now over
30 projects throughout UGAMP utilising the Unified Model, these range
from process studies of individual weather systems to UGAMPs
contribution to the AMIP2 project which aims at assessing the role of
the stratosphere in representing the climate of the troposphere. A
brief review of a number of these projects is given below.

Meteorology Department of the University of Reading in March.
